This product is used to alleviate and many times even eliminate the pain and other symptoms of the joint stiffness and inflammation so common in our society. It is a disease which is often crippling and limits many people in leading a normal life. This product contains a natural-occurring substance called cetyl myristoleate (CMO), which is the main substance needed to provide relief. It was discovered by Harry Diehl, but has since been copied by various companies with varying results. This is the original formulation, and has the proper amount of CMO needed for consistent results. You must follow some dietary recommendations in order to achieve maximum results during the 17-day treatment. The Myristin Kit includes three necessary products; the Myristin Original Formulation (51 Capsules), Myrist-Aid Support Capsules (136 Capsules), and the Myrist-Aid Support Capsules for 3-6 months after completing the kit to help repair and rebuild the damaged joints. Some people experience what is called "breakthrough pain," which is the release of accumulated compounds in their joints back into the body. Certain people have done second treatments in order to achieve desired results, and a small percentage do not receive any relief at all. yet, some get many years of pain-free relief; it obviously varies much among different people. There's also something very unique about this program. YOU ONLY TAKE IT ONCE - typically for 17 days! Most people don't have to keep taking this product in order to retain the results. Thus, it is very affordable and convenient! There are some specific recommendations you are well-advised to follow when taking MYRISTIN® and its support formulas (See Usage & Safety, below). There are some dietary recommendations provided with each Kit that will help to assure maximum results. If you follow the guidelines carefully you will improve the likelihood of success. We are aware that the program does not work the same for everyone. This is likely due to the reality that some people do not follow the prescribed regimen carefully enough. It is also likely due to the variations in the physical condition of each individua, which may affect absorption. Sometimes a second treatment is needed to obtain the desired results. In some cases a maintenance dose is needed. In a few cases (1-2%) individuals see no benefit at all.

Harry W. Diehl, a former researcher for the National Institutes of Health, is the person who discovered this natural occurring substance which he named Cetyl Myristoleate. It is currently being identified by many as "CMO", which is a generic identification for virtually all products using this type of substance. BUT BEWARE - not all so-called "CMO" products are actually cetyl myristoleate. Some of them contain other substances. And some of them actually contain very little cetyl myristoleate

Research has shown that you appear to need a specific amount of cetyl myristoleate in order for it to be effective. Typically that amount is 13.25 grams which is the dosage you receive in the MYRISTIN® KIT.

MYRISTIN® is produced and marketed by members of Harry W. Diehl's family. It is this product that we make available to you, and it is important that you KNOW you're getting THE ORIGINAL FORMULATION. Be sure you don't get fooled by the imitators of this product!

Cetyl Myristoleate is an ester of a fatty acid. According to Dr. Charles Cochran and Dr. Raymond Dent, Cetyl Myristoleate "...appears to have the same characteristics as the essential fatty acids (EFA's), linoleic and alpha-linoleic acids, except stronger and longer lasting." (Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, July, 1997) EFA's are essential to normal cell structure and body function, and they function as components of nerve cells, cell membranes, and prostaglandins. It is this ester which seems to provide the effective healing action provided by MYRISTIN®.

In "The Townsend Letter For Doctors & Patients" Dr. Cochran and Dr. Dent identify the importance of certain nutrients which seem to enhance the effectiveness of Cetyl Myristoleate. They recommend 2-3 grams daily of Omega-3 fish oil or two tablespoons full of flaxseed oil during the 17 day course of Cetyl Myristoleate. In addition they recommend 300-500 IU of Vitamin E daily, a minimum of 1,500 mg of glucosamine sulfate daily for at least three months.

There is a connection here that involves the bio-availability of the sulfur in this compound. MSM, methylsulfonylmethane, is another source for sulfur that is found in Myrist-Aid?.
